Diary of an expedition through Yellowstone National Park, 1890.

Diary kept during an expedition to Yellowstone July 10-Sept 10, 1890 under the aegis of the U. S. Fish Commission, with scientist and naturalist Stephen Forbes, and Elwood Hofer. Linton noted his scientific observations made while examining geysers, hot springs, and Shoshone, Heart, Lewis and Yellowstone lakes, among others. He recorded personal impressions as well as scientific data, included sketched maps of parts of the park, especially the lakes, and a "Glossary of words, slang, etc and a long list of "Choice western Geographical terms."
